Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum
In the late 1890's the Chesapeake Bay shoreline sported a resort with railroad service from Washington and Baltimore that lasted until financial hardship brought on by the Great Depression closed it down. Today the museum holds railroad memorabilia, photos, artifacts and memories of that great era.
Historic St. Mary’s City
St. Mary's City is an exciting mix of colorful living history and fascinating archaeology, all set in a beautiful tidewater landscape. Lord Baltimore's 17th-century capital stands ready to be rediscovered. (3-4 hours)
Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum
Experience how archaeology helps unravel the mysteries of the past in this interactive learning program. Visit a mock archeological dig to discover artifacts and learn what they can tell us about our early inhabitants. (2 hours)
Guided tours of the Manor House and Garden by trained interpreters provide visitors of all ages with an intimate look at the lives of past residents. Sotterley's significant architecture features the early 18th-century Mansion, a rare original slave cabin, and a full array of outbuildings set amidst 95 acres of rolling fields, gardens, and riverfront. (2-3 hours)
